Gabin originally only had the Catalog Ether Gem installed. An incredibly rare gem with FAR rarer viable hosts.
In order to BE a host of a Catalog Gemstone at all, a Host is required to memorize the entire atomic data of a person or object.
Few organic beings possess such a level of memory. Many of which are limited to small inanimate objects.
One of the only exceptions is the Ballod race. And only IF they have two specific psychoses.
Hoarder's Syndrom and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
Furthermore, the Ballod experiencing both of these Psychoses must also have a unique interest in hoarding their memories.
This is not a quality that can be planned or programmed or faked. It can only occur through the randomness of biochemistry.
Gabin is a one-in-a-quadrillion specimen. The kind of Ballod that only Royalty could afford to purchase.

Gabin is classified as a Perfect Host for Catalog Gemstones. His {Compatibility} score with them is always above 9o%.
As such, Gabin possesses a greater degree of control over his cells than any other Ballod.
Where most of the Ballod population can detect the goings-on within their bodies, self-diagnosing and monitoring needs - Gabin is on an entirely different level.

When a normal Ballod wants to gain a few inches of height, they can focus to activate their growth hormone. It requires extensive focus over a long period of time. While they're focusing on that, they take their focus off of things like detecting disease, or controlling their pulse. But Gabin is able to manage all of his body's functions with absolute control at all times. His {Multitasker} rank is {1o}.

All of the cells in every Ballod's body possesses a minuscule level of Neural ability. This is how/why they are able to monitor/communicate with the cells in their bodies. Ballod cells are also harvested as a basis for many Singularity and Ether Technologies for this reason.
However, Gabin takes this neural capability to a whole new level.

Gabin is able to store memories within every cell in his body. He hoards memories the same way that humans hoard items in their homes. The efficiency and density of the memories stored gets more refined over time. His body will be able to hold more and more memory as time goes on, whether he likes it or not. However, increasing his Biomass works as direct increase to his overall Memory.
This is why the two psychoses are necessary. Gabin's natural desire to hoard memories to an obsessive, compulsive degree means he can memorize entire bodies of people. Including their memories.

It is the Catalog Gemstones which stores and organizes the atomic data of Gabin's targets for him. It utilizes Gabin's gargantuan memory pool for him, growing more and more efficient over time. It is the Gems which are affecting the way that Gabin's cells work, in order to utilize them for memory. The Gems are responsible for Gabin's buff to cellular neural function. And as an unintended result, Gabin's control over his cells is cranked all the way up to {1o}

The reason why characters are unable to install both [Ether Gems] and [The 3 Techs] at the same time is due to incompatibility.

First, the [Ether Gemstones].
It is believed that Ether Gems anchor within the Host's soul. They can only flourish when unbound by the tethers of reality.
But the 3 Techs are based entirely within reality. They are like shackles on a Host's soul.
The Gems are always attempting to lift a Host's soul from their limitations, their bonds to reality.
While the 3 Techs are always pulling the Host right back down into reality.
It results in tearing. Pain, not of a physical kind per-se.
Either the Gem will crack. The Tech will crash/combust. Or the Host's mind will be vivisected.

The reason why Gabin is able to overcome this Incompatibility, is due to a perfect storm of checksums working in tandem.
It begins with Gabin's memory of himself. The Catalog Gemstones tap into his constant re-checking of himself. The Gems remind his body of who he is at all times. He cannot lose his memory of himself. His mind cannot be vivisected. Anytime his memory of himself is damaged, the Catalog Gems take it upon themselves to reset him. Which, in turn, resets the Gems as well, as they are installed as a part of his body.

Next, [The 3 Techs].
The reason why the 3 Techs glitch or combust when installed in a Host that also has a Gem installed, is due to the interference caused by the Gemstone present. While the tech is attempting to read or relay visual data - the Gem is simultaneously attempting to commandeer that same visual data in order to view reality through the Host's senses as well.

The reason why the Tech doesn't glitch or combust for Gabin, is because the Catalog Gemstones aren't utilizing any of Gabin's senses directly. They are using Gabin's memory of events which are happening in real-time. Practically instantaneously. As soon as the memory is created, it is perceived and cataloged by the Catalog Gemstones.

The Gemstones are memorizing Gabin's EtherSing Skeleton as a separate object. Not as part of his body. There is no interference.
This is all only possible due to Gabin's monumental sized memory.
Which is only possible because of the Gems presence.
Which requires the reinforced EtherSing Skeleton in order to support the required amount of Biomass for that amount of memory without Gabin being crushed under his own bulk.

Much of this is still impossible if not for the fact that Gabin possesses the Pinnacle Catalog {PC} Gemstone.
